Are these treatments safe?
These treatments and products alike have been around for well over a decade with a very safe and clinically proven track record. As with any procedure, surgical or non surgical, there are risks involved and these will be discussed with you during your consultation. Dermal fillers are also entirely reversible, should any complications arise, the filler can be dissolved immediately as well as reactions to the product handled medically. The safety of a treatment is also largely based on the practitioner and this is why we only use the most advanced techniques with the most premium of materials to give the lowest risk possible.
Does the treatment hurt?
Patient comfort is a top priority for us and again this is where material choice and technique used is optimized for a treatment which is as pain free as possible. Depending on the area treated, we use topical anaesthetic in the form of numbing cream or nerve block injections using local anaesthetic to numb various areas of the face. We also use fillers that contain local anesthetic in them so that any discomfort is eliminated as the treatment progresses.
How long do the results last?
This will vary depending on the treatment as well as product used. The shortest lasting treatment will be from 6 to 9 months with the longest varying from 12 to 18 months. For Botox treatments, results will last on average 3-4 months.
How long does it take to recover?
The beauty of these treatments is there really is no downtime at all and you can continue about your day straight after. You can however, sometimes expect some minor swelling/bruising, but this is usually resolved within a week in the majority of cases and even in the more sensitive patients, up to 2 weeks.
What if I don’t like my results?
This is why a thorough consultation and treatment plan is essential, to ensure we are both on the same page on achieving your goals realistically. We have never had a single patient not happy with their results but in the worst-case scenario, if this was to happen, the fillers are entirely reversible and can be dissolved. With Botox treatments this will wear off over a few months at the most.
How long will the treatment take?
Again, this will vary depending on how many treatments you are having as well as the type of treatment/s you are having; you will be advised upon booking. As a general rule, we would advise you to leave an hour from the time you arrive until you are out the door with your new fabulous results. If you are short for time, please let us know as there are a few things we can do to speed up the whole process slightly.
Do I need to do anything before or after my treatment?
Upon booking as well as finishing a treatment, you will receive a simple and brief list of do’s and don’ts – none of which are really limiting.
Can someone accompany me?
Of course, we often have patients have a family member or friend accompany them whether it’s for moral support or because they’re just curious and want to watch! We have even had patients film the whole process for their social media platform, which we also have no problem with. Just let us know beforehand so we know what to expect.
